  • Health Trainers
    Health Trainers are there to offer support to you and your family, when you want health advice about anything from healthy eating to getting more active, to giving up smoking. Whatever you want support with they will be able to help, or be able to tell you about some of the other services that are out there. Health Trainers can support you to: * Lose Weight * Eat healthier * Get more active * Give up smoking * Reduce stress and manage your stress levels * Provide information on alcohol * Provide information on sexual health Health Trainers also offer a Health MOT and offer brief advice about how to go about making healthier lifestyle choices. Getting started and staying motivated in the long term can be hard and so the Health Trainers will be there to support you when, sometimes your motivation dips. Health Trainers can meet you in a number of venues across St Helens. To arrange to have a chat with your Local Health Trainer please contact 01744 697432 or email healthtrainers@sthelens.gov.uk. You can see a Health Trainer individually if you are over the age of 16. If you are under 16 you can see a Health Trainer with a parent/guardian.

    Is a Community Centre is based in Park Road South, Newton-le-Willows and is a Community Centre in the true sense of the word - Run by the Community, for the Community. The Centre runs a diverse range of activities and courses (educational and recreational)and offers numerous services all of which have been in response to identified needs. The Centre is very much Community led. Our Programme includes the following courses:- Complementary Therapy course (Aromatherapy, Crystal Healing, Indian Head Massage etc.), Computers/IT, Dressmaking, Dance Classes - for adults and children, Foreign Languages(for beginners through to advanced), Guitar Lessons for Adults and Children, Family Martial Arts, Pilates, Yoga, Tai Chi, Childcare is available for numerous courses. We also run several activities for children and young people i.e. After School Club, Family Fun Time. There are weekly advice & guidance sessions for those seeking employment or wanting to start their own business. We also have numerous volunteering opportunities available.     Rugby coaching and playing every Sunday morning between 1015 and 12:00 for children of all abilities from reception to year 7 with the emphasis on fun and involvement. We hold various social events throughout the year for families including a Christmas party and the highlight of the year is our rugby tour with up to 200 people !
